KeyBank, a longtime partner and supporter of non-profits in the Capital District, recently presented Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany with a check for $10,000. The gift supports Wheels and Ways to Work, a program that helps low-income clients get access to car loans for reliable transportation and teaches financial literacy. The gift also supports Catholic Charities’ Night at the Museum event, which raises funds to help the programs of Catholic Charities operating in 14 counties throughout the central Upstate New York region.
“We are extremely grateful for the terrific support shown by KeyBank today,” said Vincent W. Colonno, CEO of Catholic Charities. “They are a fantastic community partner, and thanks to this gift, we’re going to be able to help more people who come to our doors for assistance this year. This support is so important, especially for a program like Wheels and Ways to Work which helps lift people out of poverty.” Mr. Colonno added that the funding for Night at the Museum goes to support the basic needs programs and emergency assistance run by Catholic Charities in local towns and cities.
“We are proud to support Catholic Charities and their Wheels to Work program, which provides access to affordable and reliable transportation,” said Ruth Mahoney, president, Capital Region, KeyBank. “In addition to helping people access jobs and childcare, it allows them to begin to build or rebuild their credit which will ultimately help their financial future.”
