David Covey has re-joined the Catholic Charities' team as the new Executive Director for our agency in Fulton and Montgomery Counties. David has previously served as Associate Executive Director of Catholic Charities Care Coordination Services. Catholic Charities Senior Caregiver and Support Services is looking for volunteers to act as resident advocates for the Long Term Care Ombudsman Program.
Certified Volunteer Ombudsmen visit nursing homes, assisted living facilities and family type homes weekly. Ombudsmen help residents and their families understand and exercise their rights to quality care and quality of life. Volunteers resolve complaints and help to preserve the dignity of residents in long-term care facilities.

Last week marked the kick-off of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program for 2018. The program is a collaboration with CA$H Coalition of the Greater Capital Region, Catholic Charities Tri-County Services and United Way of the Greater Capital Region. VITA offers free tax preparation services from IRS trained and certified volunteer preparers to any family or individual with a household income not exceeding $54,000.
